School refusal is becoming a bigger issues every day.

If your young person is struggling to go to school and you are struggling with the every morning battle it might be time to reach out for some help.

What can Umbrella Counselling do to help?

Our program is designed for young people aged 12 and older who are struggling with anxiety related to school attendance, leading to extended absences and missed educational opportunities. It is most effective as an early intervention strategy, aimed at addressing the underlying issues that both the student and their family are facing.

Individualised Approach:

The program is tailored to the unique needs of each family and student. It combines individual therapy, family therapy, and personalized tasks for the young person to complete outside of therapy sessions. If appropriate, the program also includes meetings and collaborative support with schools to help integrate the student back into the school environment.

Prevention of Long-Term Impacts

Early intervention is critical, as prolonged school refusal can have lasting consequences on a young person’s academic development and self-confidence. Addressing these issues before they become entrenched is essential to ensuring that students can build a foundation for future success and personal growth.

Support for Long-Term School Refusal

For students who have been experiencing school refusal for an extended period, Umbrella Counselling offers more intensive, tailored programs. These interventions are designed to provide a higher level of support and are adaptable to meet the specific needs of each student.
